The Short Bus Master Plan

for a while i've been thinking about getting out of Minnesota. I've never lived anywhere else, and while I like it here, I really have nothing to compare it to. I definately like the people here, and it's pretty cool to be able to ride anywhere i need to be, or hop into 1on1 or the crc for a cup of coffee and some quality reading. but i think it was riding in fruita for a couple of days that really opened my eyes to what was maybe out there.

so i've decided that i should probably move to colorado for a couple months this summer. i figure i can save up some cash, be moved out of the hallway and not be paying rent in the cities and live out of friends houses and what ever vehicle i get myself down there in.

so my first plan was to aquire a vw bus. but i realized the're kind of spendy for what you get, plus they sound like a bitch to keep running. I like to tinker, but i dont know if i like to tinker that much. also, not much space for bikes and sleeping inside at the same time. The natural jump was to a cargo van. more space, more reliable, and easier to come by both in whole vehicles and in parts. so i thought that would be the route for a long time and i looked at lots of cargo vans on the internet, until I got an idea: a short bus! damn, if i got myself a short bus it'd be like an upgrade. i'm guessing that the short bus may actually have more square footage than the hallway i live in now. plus i can say "hi, my name is sideburnz, and i live in a short bus." a perfect fit if you ask me. after daydreaming for a while about this i went on the craigslist, and much to my surprise, there are short busses for sale in the area. and they aint even that expensive. most of them even have a hydroulic wheelchair lift. bonus!

so in conclusion, i think that in june i should move out of my hallway and into a short bus and drive to colorado for two months of nothing but camping, singletrack and fly fishing

the end.
