Buck Hill

First World Famous Buck Hill last night. Instead of a recap I think I'll just write a few things I learned:

1. 180 cranks don't make you go faster. they make you not able to pedal around corners
2. the whatever x whatever gear I have on my marin is too big for my fat ass at this moment.
3. go fast at the beginning or you'll be stuck behind a bunch of people in the woods. ( i've been learining this constantly for like the last 5 years, but it seems like i forget every week. maybe if i write it down...)
4. small block 8s are not good in sand. or on gravel fire roads.
5. it s still painfully slow to cut across the ski hill twice every lap.
6. you should't eat tacos and iced cream at 2:30pm if you want to race well.
7. you can't fix a king headset by letting it sit all winter.
8. upsidedown stems DO make you faster.
9. there might be such a thing as a handlebar that's too wide
10. none of that other crap matters because its still buck hill, and the people are 100x more fun than you'd ever find at any road race. and who cares as long as you have fun right?

screech, i'm impressed by your blogging. keep up the good work

Wow, you learned a lot at Buck! I have found that nothing seems to fix itself by letting it sit. The large rodent still lives in my derailleur on my road bike. Sounds like you still had fun!
