Kansas City Cross Natz, special ncccccccc edition
Just got back from KC cross nationals with Maria and Mike from UMD. Nothing really bad happened even though we were in Kansas. I guess we weren't that far in just across the border. I could feel a strange force pulling from the Fort Riley area however.
The course looked pretty rough, very rutted, and it looked like for a majority of sections there was really only one navigable line, which caused all the fields to string out almost instantaneously. Man, I love watching cross races. Watching cross races makes me want to end my three year taper and start lifting, and get on a trainer and kick some ass. It's strange to me that that's the race that makes me want to get a little bit serious again. It looked like a whole lot of hurt during the collegiate mens race:
Then about an hour later it looked like hurt, plus greasy mud during the women's elite race:
The mens elite race looked about like the elite women's, but faster and plus a couple notches on the mud factor:
These guys were there:
There is a fabulous prize for whomever can name these two former/current ncccccccccc racers, except for Maria, because she already knows. Hint: both were/are K State riders:
Good Luck!
